Preparation is the whole job
Cornerstone Financial Solutions prepares tax returns. Not as an add-on to something else we do — it is the work.
That focus is deliberate. A return that is prepared carefully the first time is cheaper, faster, and far less stressful than one that has to be amended, defended, or explained later. Most of the cost of a bad return is not the preparation fee. It is everything that comes after it.
We work mainly with individuals and small businesses, and we handle both current-year filings and returns that are years past due. The past-due work is a real part of what we do rather than an exception we tolerate, which means nobody here is going to make you feel strange about being behind.
Our office is in Westminster, Colorado, but our clients are not. We prepare federal and state returns for clients in all 50 states, including multi-state filings for people who moved or earned income across state lines. Nearly all of the work is handled by phone, email, and mail — you do not need to be anywhere near Colorado.

How the two fit together
Resolution and preparation are different jobs
BC Tax works on tax resolution — negotiating with the IRS on balances owed, liens, levies, wage garnishments, and payment arrangements. Cornerstone prepares the returns.
Those two things sound similar from the outside, but they are separate disciplines, and most resolution work depends on the returns being filed first. When a BC Tax client needs returns prepared as part of their strategy, that work comes to us — in house, on the same team, without handing the file to an outside preparer who has no context for the case.
You can hire us on our own
None of that requires you to be a BC Tax client. Most of the people we work with are not. If you simply need a return prepared — this year's, or several years' worth — that is the job, and it stands on its own.
